We’re planning a multi-block holiday light display November 30—December 31.
The display will begin at Duncan Park and run up to the Arlington Lofts at North Broadway Park.
The lights will be on nightly through the end of the year.
The oldest tree in the North Limestone neighborhood is a Burr Oak in Castlewood Park and we are hoping to use this as our official holiday tree for the season.
We’ll plan a kickoff event on November 30 (Small Business Saturday), as well as December 7 with the official lighting of the streets and holiday tree.
The intent is for the mayor to flip a swith at 6pm to kick off the light season.
Retailers along these blocks will be open special hours on November 30 & December 7, offering giveaways and freebies (hot cocoa, ciders, etc) to launch the shopping season.
This kickoff coincides with Small Business Saturday, when small businesses are frequently already hosting special events, sales & general frivolity.
Details will be added as they develop, be sure to check back!
Who’s organizing this?
A newly-formed group (tentatively) known as North Lime Loyalty — made up of vested business owners and stakeholders along North Limestone who want to encourage more exploration of the charms (and businesses) of the Northside neighborhoods while honoring the history and unique character of the area.
